Description
Kashiwa mochi is mochi that usually eats on the Children day in Japan (May of 5th). The mochi has filling of red bean paste/miso bean paste and is wrapped in kashiwa leaf (oak leaf). Its form remains you about a sturdy clam where as the leaf symbolize the prosperity of descendants.
In Japan Kashiwa mochi is the most used gift for children on the Children Day with the wish for the happiness and well-being of children.
