Description
Uirou is one of Mochi-type Wagashi. It is made by the mixture of glutinous rice flour, katakuriko (starch), rice flour. Its texture is very similar to mochi, but less sticky. However, uirou does not lose its soft texture like mochi.
‘Ume-no-hana’ is often offered in Winter/New Year. Umeboshi (salted ume) is the key ingredient that makes ‘Ume-no-hana’ special. It has the right balance between sweetness and sourness.
